Garden to Table Artichoke Dish
If I were to be judgmental and ignorant, this handcrafted dish would’ve been perceived as simply “fashionable,” but thanks to my current project of Rodale’s online store launch event, I was able to get a heart-felt back story of this work of art.
Heirloom studio’s owner was inspired by the wonderful form of an asparagus; he drew it so that people get to see that beauty, offering another layer of taste (rather eye candy) after cleaning up the plate. The thought extends into the form which is designed to envelope the asparagus gracefully.
Inspiring, isn’t it?
When in doubt, look for inspirational images.

Photo Highlights from MoMA’s Survey of 20th Century Design for Kids
Saw this in person -an incredible exhibit with a wide range of approach to children’s minds.
I also found it interesting that children are used as basic units of living. As the most reactive living (well, that’s debatable -seniors?) As the most “honest.” As the future.
